
Cyclone October Challenge 2021
October is a beautiful month!
It is a time when the rains descend and the winter ascends. Many movies have been made using the title ‘October’. However for cyclists in Ahmedabad the story is different.
For Ahmedabad cyclists, a “Cyclone” regularly arrives in October! This October Cyclone brings all the cycles and their riders on the roads! This Cyclone is none other than the October Cycling Challenge organised by Cyclone Cycling Club of Ahmedabad.
Tie those laces/Strap your Shoes, wear your helmets, oil your cycle’s chain and bring your team-spirit hiding in the basement to the top of your roof. If you thought office or family was tough, the October Challenge is going to challenge you as an individual, as a team member and as a team leader.

RULES OF THE GAME:
(Only of Cyclone Club Members)
- Date of Challenge: 1st October to 31st October 2021
- Every Monday is day-off for Rest.
- We are keeping day-off for three days for Navratri festival: October 9 (Sat), 10 (Sun) and 11 (weekly Monday off)
- Registration Charges: INR 700 (non-refundable)
- Teams:
- Each team will have 10 riders
- Teams will be selected randomly via a random algorithm decided by Cyclone COC Team.
- Each team will have 10 Riders in the group; Maximum 8 riders from the group to ride in a day. Team may give rest to 2 riders daily. Even if all 10 riders are riding on a particular day, we will consider 8 riders for the calculation.
- Minimum 4 members must ride on a day for the team’s mileage to be counted.
- STRAVA IS MUST: All participating members are required to be on Strava and their cycling activities should be on Strava during the challenge period.
- All the riders should be registered on our club in Strava https://www.strava.com/clubs/CycloneCyclingClub
- Entries to be updated on the cyclone website, max by 12 noon next day; the riders posting later will not be considered.
- Manually added data without using App will not be considered.
- Tagged activity on Strava will not be considered.
- This is a cycling challenge and hence only cycling activities will be considered for the challenge.
- Kilometer Criteria:
- While riders are free to ride as many KM possible every day during the entire challenge but to keep the challenge competitive, we will consider Kms as per below:
- On Weekdays (Tuesday to Saturday): A minimum of 20km and maximum of 35 Km in a weekday (Tuesday to Saturday), will be considered
- On weekends (Sunday): A Minimum of 50Km & Maximum of 80Km will be considered.
- Last Sunday of the Oct month: A minimum of 50Km & maximum of 100Km will be considered.
- While riders are free to ride as many KM possible every day during the entire challenge but to keep the challenge competitive, we will consider Kms as per below:
- BRM Consideration: People who are doing BRM during October month, the BRM ride will be considered and maximum kilometers as per challenge criteria will be considered, i.e. 35 km for weekdays (Tuesday-Saturday) and 80/100 km (Sunday) for the Weekend.
- Bonus:
- Bonus: Teams which have 8 members cycle on any day, during the challenge (with criteria of point 6) will get a bonus of 20% on that day.
- Example – if 8 members together clock 200 KM, they will get 240 KM. Also we want only 8 riders out of 10 in the team to ride in a day. (Point 3C)
- Super Bonus: All teams which have all its members (8 members) cycle for 15 days or more (October 1st to 31st) will get a 50 KM bonus for the team, at end of the month. (Only one Super Bonus per team).
- Special Bonus: All riders of the team (8 members) who do 80 KM ride on all the Sundays will get special bonus points, which is 20% of the total km clocked for the month.
- Bonus: Teams which have 8 members cycle on any day, during the challenge (with criteria of point 6) will get a bonus of 20% on that day.
- Common Route Ride: To bring in more harmony and know cyclone riders better across the chapter every Saturday of the month we will have a common route ride during the event. Though it is not mandatory but all team members must try to attend
- Cycling Jersey: Teams can have their own Cycling Jerseys but to have the CYCLONE CYCLING CLUB Logo on the jersey is mandatory. Teams can contact the Cyclone jury team to get the best deal of making a jersey.
- Team Winning Criteria: The top 3 teams which collectively clock maximum kilometers during the challenge period will be declared the winner of the challenge as per top 3 clocked miles.
- Individual Medal Eligibility: Riders need to clock Minimum of 400 km during October challenge, to get eligible for the Medal & Certificate.
- If Rider clock Kms below 400Km, will get ONLY Participation certificate.
- Recognition: Highest Mileage for riders (Individual) – Male & Female will get recognition
- We are still under the fear of Covid, all Covid protocols to be followed by all riders
- For any dispute, jury decision will be final.

Centenary Brevet 200Km (100yrs of brevet celebration)

The vaahan to inner peace may change with time, but the route to inner peace is fixed.
The Cyclone Cycling Club of Ahmedabad, are determined to spread this cycling inner peace and celebrate its 100th year of origin in Paris (by ACP), by organizing a BRM200 (centenary brevet).
All riders, time to gear up and have your riding emotions high for this BRM!

Route: Gotila Garden > Super City > Canal Road > CP Farm

World Health Week (Virtual Event)
7th April 2021 is World Health Day.
With all your love and support Cyclone Cycling Club brings to you the extended version of “World health week virtual challenge” to keep your fitness on track.
ONLY ONE RIDE, BETWEEN 7TH-11TH APRIL.
Your location Your convenience and your passion!!
Event: Date: 7-11 April 2021 (ANY ONE DAY, ONLY ONE RIDE)
Ride Categories: 10 Km | 25 Km | 50 Km | 100 Km (Choose any One Distance)
Even If you do multiple rides during these days, you are allowed to upload only One ride.
All the participants will get an E-certificate and Medal (Couriered at home post event)
Participants can upload ONLY ONE Ride, during the event days (7th-11th April)
RULES OF THE GAME:
1. The registration fee is non-refundable.
2. You can choose any distance, but whatever you choose, you need to ride minimum of that much of distance. For Example: If you choose 25Km distance, then you need to ride minimum of 25Km. Even if you ride 24.99 Km, you will be considered in 10Km Category.
3. you need to do only one ride during 7th-11th April, Incase you do ride daily or you do multiple rides in a day, you are allowed to upload only one ride with maximum distance.
4. If you choose for X Category (for example: 25Km) and you do cover higher category distance (ex: 50Km or above) then you will get medal for heigher category distance (ex: 50Km) and not for lower category (ex: 25Km) what you chose for.
5. Our team will verify all the data and found any unfair means done, then that will result in disqualification.
6. In case of any dispute the Final decision will be under the hands of the organizer.
4. Organizers and their associates take no responsibility for any participant throughout the event.
Data Submission Details:
1. A participant has to register for the event on cyclone.org.in
2. A participant need to record ride using the Strava, Garmin, Samsung, Health Daily Mile, Endomondo, or any other App which is used to record the ride with map. Map must be visible on ride data. Manual Entry on your device will not be allowed.
3. The data needs to be uploaded on www.cyclone.org.in for verification.
In the verification form following data will be required:
1. Date
2. Cycling distance covered.
3. Strava Ride (or any other app data link) link to be uploaded
3. Screenshots of your application for data verification
HOW TO UPLOAD DATA:
- Log in to www.cyclone.org.in
- Go to my event: you will find list of your registered event.
- Click on event “Add Activity” in “World Health Week” event
- Form will open.
- Fill up all required data in form and submit.
- Check twice before hit submit button and make sure all details entered are correct.

Cyclone Cycling Club presents: Brevet Populaire
This is an Endurance Ride, for motivating the beginners to embark on the journey of long distance cycling. Experienced cyclists can challenge themselves to complete the given distance in their personal best times. Come challenge yourselves!!!
Every rider has to finish the ride within the cut-off time.
Route : 100 Kms
Cut off : 07 Hours 30 Minutes
Support vehicle(s) will be available on standby. Please note that support vehicles will be available ONLY during emergency.
If the rider quits the ride, the rider has to arrange his/her own transportation along with the bike. Support vehicle(s) will NOT be responsible to transport the rider or the bike in that case.
The rider can be warned or disqualified for any unfavourable behaviour, solely at the organiser’s discretion. The organiser’s decision will be final and binding on all.
Reporting time at start point : 05.15 am
Flag Off from Start point : 06.00 am Sharp
Start Point : Gotila Garden, Sindhubhavan Road
End Point: Gwalia SBR
Compulsory: Helmet, Front light, Tail Light and reflective vest are mandatory.
Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or simply want to get a taste of what cycling is all about, this ride will give you a taste of everything! The route is beautiful, the terrain is a wonderful combination of easy and challenging. All in all, this ride is a blast, where there is something for everyone!
Each rider reaching the finish line first would have covered the same distance as the last rider and would get the same medal. This is NOT a competition or a race. Safety of the cyclist is of TOP priority. Respect the road!!
Finishers Certificate will be available for every cyclist who finishes within the cut-off time. The certificates will be available for download from the Event URL on Audax India website.
